I came here for Valentines Day and loved everything we ordered! I got the sharp tongue cocktail and it was amazing - probably the best cocktail I've had in years, the perfect amount of sweet and tart and slightly spicy. We ordered salmon poke, lamb sliders, crispy brussel sprouts, steak frites, scallop, bread pudding, and cheesecake. Everything was tasty and not too salty which is a common thing I notice in other higher end restaurants. I especially liked the salmon poke and brussel sprouts, and the steak came with a really yummy peppery sauce. Definitely recommend for a date night!

This place is great if you're looking for something new to try. They serve a variety of tapas to share among the table. For 2 people, three tapas were plenty. We had the chef's special grilled garlic steak, mediterranean spinach dip, and kofta lamb sliders. We ordered the steak medium, but it was pretty tough. The mediterranean spinach dip was creamy and flavorful. The kofta lamb sliders were moist and gamey. The server was attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. The ambiance was cozy and contemporary, a great place for date night. Overall, a solid place for a meal.

Popped in for a quick solo dinner and was impressed by the food scene in Atlanta. Peachtree Street is bustling with many restaurants like Saltyard: classy, modern, and fairly priced. The menu features a variety of American staples. I went ahead and started with seared scallops ($7 per scallop) and the porkchop. Both were wonderfully cooked! The scallops had a crispy exterior and soft middle and the chef coupled it with this delicious green sauce. The porkchop was beautifully presented, sliced on the plate and ready to be devoured. Next time I come, definitely want to try out the salmon tacos... they look total yum in other review pics!

I visited Saltyard to celebrate two friends and their anniversary and ended up going back the very next day because I left my credit card the day before. So let me start by saying the owner, Lee, is amazing. He came and introduced himself while I sat at the bar waiting for my friends. He was very polite, super accommodating and made me feel very welcome. When my party arrived, he came and spoke to the table as well. We started by ordering quite a few small plates for our party of 10. A few things were taking a while to come out but everything was still going well. The food we did receive was delicious, especially the sliders which were cooked perfectly and juicy and deviled eggs that had interestingly, pleasant flavor. Our waiter seemed a little flustered but still seemed to be handling things. That is until I asked about the status of my lamb ragout. He insisted I hadn't ordered it and I did. Regardless, no one was visibly upset but that was the last time we saw the waiter. Another waiter handled our table from that point. The owner came by and offered me his card and a free lamb ragout on my next visit. Then, he sent an assortment of desserts for my friends' anniversary. The apple hand pies were really good. The creme brulee unfortunately wasn't set but overall it was a good visit. The next day I realized I didn't have my credit card so I called the restaurant and Lee answered and was as gracious as before. I went by to pick it up in the evening and decided to have some food and drinks while I was there. The bartender, Kyle, was very nice and we spoke almost the whole time I was there. He also made me a really good bourbon drink with muddled blueberries. This time I ordered the the scallops along with the sliders, deviled eggs and hand pies. The scallops were cooked well and the puree was a nice touch. Once it started to get busy, I decided to cash out. I was going to pay for all the small plates I ordered (about 4), my 2 drinks and take my free lamb ragout to go. The bartender was confused about how to give me the lamb ragout without ringing it up so instead he took a few things off my bill I guess to make up for not giving me the ragout. The issue was 1. I wanted my ragout and 2. The items he took off didn't even equal the value of the ragout. I waited about 20 minutes for him to finally close my tab (my card was sitting there in front of him the whole time) and give me the ragout. Overall, the owner is great, good is good but there are just a few kinks with the staff. Nothing so crazy that I wouldn't go back, however.

This was our first time at Saltyard. It's a mistake that I waited so long to come. I found this menu intriguing and innovative. But I'm getting a little ahead of myself. There is easy parking in the back and the space is really cool. It's somewhat small, but in a good way. This reminds me of the kind of space One might find in Center City Philadelphia or the East Village. From the outside it looks more like an office park, but inside you have that old city charm and patina. We had several items, much of which was suggested to us by our waiter, they did a great job of guiding us through the menu and making sure we hit some of the favorites. For the salad you definitely want to try the pad Thai salad, and whether you like kale or not, The kale salad is unique. We also had the street corn, which was very good and comes with a nice dusting of cheese on top. I would strongly recommend the mushroom toast, which has a brandy cream sauce that is exceptional. The duck confi is probably the best in Atlanta. All duck can be tender, but most places in Atlanta did not render the skin to a golden crisp. We tried the quail, which normally I like but found The breading too heavy and the spices too strong such that the quail was drowned out. I'm not usually a dessert fan but both the creme brûlée and the strawberry cake were surprisingly good. Service was really good at the beginning, although stuff tends to come quickly out of the kitchen, and we felt rushed. Then our waiter got a large party of eight and a party of six. That meant that we didn't see him for about twenty minutes. I was frustrated by that, but having waited tables myself I understand stuff like that happens. Corkage was $20, not bad, but I hope they don't raise it. I'd like to come back soon!

We chose saltyard on a whim after reading the yelp reviews. It's definitely on the pricier side, but typical for the area. I'd recommend it for a nice date night or celebration. We took our servers advice and shared plates. We enjoyed the chicken and dumplings, roasted corn, roasted Brussels sprouts, octopus and fries. If I could do it over, pass on the corn and sprouts. I didn't eat the octopus but the other members of my party enjoyed it. The draft beer selection was meh, it was disappointing to see "seasonal" brews as really just typical brews. I was hunting a little more variety.

While in Atlanta for my sisters bachelorette I was asked to find a restaurant that would appeal to vegetarians, as well as meat eaters. We chose Saltyard for its extensive options and small plates to share. We ordered about 3/4's of the menu since everyone was starving. We ordered: a charcuterie board, fried brussel Sprouts. Oyster mushrooms, grilled corn, elote, roasted cauliflower, roasted mushroom and shrimp risotto, pan roasted scallops, salmon toast, grilled fillet and finished off with desert! We absolutely loved everything we tried. The two dishes that stood out to me most were the the roasted mushroom and shrimp risotto: for its unique flavor and red beet colored Risotto and the salmon toast: it sounded very basic but had such good crunch and freshness to it! We ended the night with 3 delicious deserts and chanpange! I was too busy devouring everything to take any pics of our actual diner. Needless to sat, Saltyard is a must try when in the ATL!

My second visit to Saltyard was even better than the first, and now their Fall/Winter menu is in full swing. Monday nights are a great time to check out this great restaurant, as all their wine bottles are half-priced, so splurge on a nicer vintage than would usually fit your budget. Hospitality and service remain excellent, and you'll be hard pressed to find a more attentive and friendly server than the wonderful Britt. Since the menu had changed since my last visit, she carefully and expertly assisted me with ordering gluten free dishes for our table. While the seasonal menu changes often, here are the dishes we enjoyed and I heartily recommend: the smoked beet salad, tasty and delicious served over a carrot puree with curried pine nuts and feta cheese; the white chanterelle mushrooms - earthy bites of heavenly bliss; the braised local short rib, fall-off-the-bone tender with an amazing chestnut puree; and the mole pork, which comes with crispy cheddar grits and marinated radishes. (I'm getting hungry again as I type this review.)

I've been to Saltyard quite a few times now, which should tell you a thing or two ;) It's one of my favorite tapa-style restaurants. The food here is great and they take a creative approach to their menu and drinks. Menu changes quite often so check online if you are looking for something specific. Their actual menu DOES match the online version - so refreshing! The interior is nice and of the rustic chic variety with industrial touches, a route many restos are taking now. On my last visit here I ordered Whiskey tango foxtrot and a manhattan, both delicious! For tapas we tried: - Scallop crudo interspersed with pieces of grapefruit - very delicate dish, melt-in-your-mouth, definitely a must; - Grilled octopus with chickpea puree and roasted chickpeas - very tender and also one of my fave dishes; - Spice roasted squash with sweet potato - another winner, slightly sweet, charred and smoky; - Grilled lamb loin with rosemary white bean puree - this was my least favorite, a bit too charred. - Steak tartare with caperberry, dijon, and chopped egg - another miss, way too salty and would have been much better with raw quail egg. On my previous visits here I tried tuna tartar, steak carpaccio, quail, among others and although there are usually a few missed, most of the dishes are tasty. Overall impression: very cozy place, delicious food and creative drinks, great service, garage parking. Will be back in a heartbeat!
